Classifying a sport can get into specific and argumentative details that makes it hard to draw a fine line between what is and what isn’t a sport. Nascar is just as much of a sport as all others. Nascar is a fast paced 200 lap race between 40 fiberglass super cars with a 500 mile distance. After the ref waves the green flag,it is a pedal to the metal fight to the checkered flag finish line. According to Odysseyonline, in order to sit in those hot cars for hours on end you have to be really physically fit. Just like in any sport, everybody has to be physically and mentally qualified. These NASCAR drivers are required to do a ton of exercise and training outside of their racing vehicles. In this case, running, lifting weights, and being able to have fast reflexes are some drills that they have to practice. Drivers even spend hours in the car racing which can be extremely tiring and need a tremendous amount of focus to do. Some things drivers have to keep in mind are rules that include regulations, safety requirements, skills, and competitiveness. Alike other sports, NASCAR shares the same rules and regulations. Before races and events, NASCAR fans have tailgates outside of the track before the race getting excited for the race to start. In comparison, Football is well known to have fans gathering together for tailgates just like these.

People always favor watching one sport over the other. Majority of Americans enjoy watching baseball, football, basketball, and hockey don’t capitalize sports name but it is sometimes rare to hear about people sitting down to watch NASCAR. Anthony Epps, a NASCAR enthusiast says “ It is so underrated and I don’t get why everyone doesn’t love it. No other sports have cars on fire! It  has everything and more like any other sport out here.” If the drivers get into a crash they get out of the car and get into another and keep on going as if nothing fazes them. People love this sport because it is unlike any other as it gives them something different not just the same old thing they have been watching for years on end. It constantly changes and it keeps watchers guessing in an exciting way.

NASCAR bring all types of thrill to fans and allows them to have fun while cheering on their favorite racers. It is a dangerous sport that deserves to have more attention for the thrills and fast pace speeds.
