Mrs. Kettering & Spain

Brynn Radak (BR): Where did you study abroad? And for how long?

Yvette Kettering (YK): Spain for 6 weeks

BR: How old were you when you studied abroad?

YK: 20 years old

BR: Why did you decide to study abroad?

YK: I wanted to learn Spanish and explore another part of the world and another culture.

BR: Did you live on your own or with a family?

YK: I lived with a family that had 2 daughters.

BR: What was your favorite experience while studying abroad?

YK: Meeting people who lived in Spain and then 2 years later being able to back pack across Europe and meet up with those friends again that I kept in contact with.

BR: What were the downsides of studying abroad?

YK: None.

BR: Would you recommend studying abroad to your students. If so, why?

YK: Yes, it is a once in a lifetime experience. You become more aware and knowledgable about other cultures-how people live, work and spend their free time. It opens your eyes to another part of the world.
