Every year, Esperanza High School holds a welcome-back dance to mark the start of the new school year. This dance is only for EHS students.
For those who don’t know, MorP is prom backward and is the opposite of formal. Some kids come dressed in normal clothes and some dress up with friends. Themes include movie characters, referees, bananas, lifeguards, and much more. The only requirement is that it has to be school-appropriate and no weapons (even if they’re fake) allowed on costumes.
MorP has activities such as a dance floor, food, and a DJ to provide fun and entertainment to students as a way to welcome them or welcome them back.
Freshmen get into the dance at 7 pm and upperclassmen at 8 pm. This is done so freshmen can get used to being at a school dance and get used to the environment before the upperclassmen show up. MorP is generally around the first or second week of school.
MorP is a great way to welcome the new school year, dress, and see friends from the previous year.
