The Tragedy of 9/11

The Tragedy of 9/11

The world stood still as they saw one of America’s tallest buildings burst into flames and smoke. This building was the World Trade Center of 9/11. Members of Al-Qaeda would later be held responsible for hijacking two planes and crashing them into the Twin Towers. Initially, people believed that the first plane was a freak accident and a tragedy. According to FBI and other eyewitness accounts the first plane struck the North Tower at exactly 8:46 Am. Flight 11 crashed in between the 93rd and 99th towers of the World Trade Center leaving no survivors from the plane. This attack was intended to crash four planes into different monuments but only three out of four successfully hit the targets.  Even though we lost thousands of lives and it changed our country forever it also changed us in a good way. We, as Americans, were able to come together as a whole and support each other to help us get past the tragedy of 9/11 and make sure that we will never forget the heroic actions of all the heroes who helped save people.
