Many people this year have probably had experience with phone pouches or maybe had heard about it from other students but either way everyone knows about the new phone pouch policy. But the real question is “Was It Really Necessary?” Many people who barely use their phone in school might say “yes and that it causes distractions.” But others who use their phone more often like a student named Elijah who claims that “ Phones could help with emergencies and be useful for learning about math, language arts and more!” While what Elijah said was true, it still sadly won’t be able to match up with those who use AI in their phones to do their own school work or just use them for entertainment. Not just that but when Elijah was asked about what his first reaction was about the phone pouches he said “I am upset not just because we had our phones taken away, but that our school had to use this policy to stop students who are in class using their phone at a constant rate” 

Not just that but most students who get caught with their phone out would usually have a fake excuse for having their phones out, or maybe have a real reason like an emergency. But because of many students who use their phones in class just to entertain themselves. It can also cause distractions to themselves or to other students. But in short, phone pouches can cause some problems with emergencies, and may also prevent others who use their phone to do work with others, like sharing work. But all that can be outweighed by the distractions, cheating, and more with phones.
