Another year, another Lakers playoff appearance.
The NBA playoffs are once again upon us and this year might be a little different for the lake show. For starters, it was our first full season with Slovenian basketball legend Luka Doncic. He was our top scorer this season (2,143 points) and it led us to a respectable 4th place finish in the Western Conference. We have our Game 1 tonight against Houston on ABC at 5:30.
SERIES SCHEDULE:
Game 1: Rockets vs. Lakers Saturday April 18th
Game 2: Rockets vs. Lakers Tuesday April 21st
Game 3: Lakers vs. Rockets Friday April 24th
Game 4: Lakers vs. Rockets Sunday April 26th
Game 5: (If Necessary) Rockets vs. Lakers Wednesday April 29th
Game 6: (If Necessary) Lakers vs. Rockets Friday May 1st
Game 7: (If Necessary) Rockets vs. Lakers Sunday May 3rd
Despite being the lower seed, Houston’s actually favored to win this series at around -220. Just like the NHL, an NBA playoff series has a 2-2-1-1-1 format to decide who hosts each game. So, Lakers being the higher seed will host games 1, 2, 5, and 7, with the Rockets hosting the other 3. Part of the reason why they might be favorites is because we’re still missing Luka and AR for this game (hamstring and oblique strain). Reaves is expected to be out for at least the rest of the month. You’ll be able to watch every playoff game on ABC, ESPN, NBC, Peacock, and Prime Video. Tonight’s game will be on ABC. Go Lakers!
