This year the Men’s Football team began with a rocky start, but the team chemistry and enthusiastic student section helped to balance it out.

Each year the game against Yorba Linda High School is one of the most attended games of the season because of the strong school rivalry. On Oct 14 the Aztecs played hard against Yorba Linda and, despite the loss, the student section held so much school spirit that the score was insignificant. It was easy to see the pride that so many students had for the team and school.

The student body did not just support this one game. This entire season the student section has been actively supporting the team as they fight hard each game. “The student section has been good,” said Coach Tommy Storing.

As for stand out players, Junior Hayden Winters is running back for the Aztecs and has been an important member of the team this year. Also, Safety Jackson Lawce has shown significant improvement this season.

“The team is steadily growing and is having a more positive outlook,” said Storing.

Overall, the team is pulling together and is continuing to play hard this year. With only a few games left for the season, the boys plan to finish as strong as possible and continue playing each game with an encouraging point of view.
