For both men’s and women’s lacrosse, they are working hard this season in hopes of future success in the following seasons.
With the main goal being improvement and communication as a team, they plan to use these sharpened skills to have greater achievements in the future. Senior Kara Fortier explained, “Right now we’re focusing on improving our game so that next year we’ll be ready to make playoffs.”
Fortier claimed, “ The team’s main goal for season is to keep improving and becoming a better team so we can keep getting more and more wins in the future.” But, while the women’s side has been fortunate to avoid major setbacks, the men’s team faced this challenge head on.
During the men’s season, they suffered from the loss of important teammates through various injuries. “This season was rough” said varsity player Andrew Jankowski. “We had a lot of injuries to some of our key players.”
Yet, both teams have a strong sense of camaraderie and take comfort in knowing they have a support group along with a solid team. “My favorite part about the team is that no matter if we win or lose we all come together at the end of the day,” said Madisyn Scott. “The team has become almost like a family and it’s just a great environment to be in.”
Rough as their starts may be, there has been signs of promise and an emphasis on working hard now to accomplish future wins shows their determination and capability as a unit. Ultimately, wins and losses aside, both teams are continually working to better themselves and push each other in order to become the best team possible.
