I provided mental health support at Valencia High School before coming to Esperanza, but I’ve worked in several middle schools throughout the district as well.
Why did you come to Esperanza?
I’ve worked at several schools since I’ve been in the district and I needed a place to land, a place to finally call my home. The last Wellness Specialist moved out of state, so the opportunity arose for me to call this school my home. It’s a good fit.
Why do you teach the subject you teach?
I learned a lot about myself as I explored and learned more about mental health at Chapman. The amount of growth I experienced through the self reflection and understanding and acceptance that happens when you face your experiences and challenge your ways of being, it just made me want that for other people…for all people.
