As the class of 2024 comes to an end many of us don’t know what’s our next stop. Many of us don’t even know if we want to go to college or start to work or what to do. Some people may chose to go to college and work at the same time while others may just want to go straight to work. For myself, I plan to go to college while attending the reserves in the army. Although some people may see this as a challenge it really is not because it doesn’t really affect you much. in reserves you only work about three days which is a weekend. The Reserves “offers you the opportunity to work in your civilian career or attend college full time while serving near home”. I would love to do this because not only do I want to serve this country with pride but I also want to be educated on justice studies so when I complete my years of service which is probably bu the age of twenty-one , I will be able to because a police officer afterwards. “Reserves is probably a good choice if you want to get help paying for your college”. Serving in the military was always a dream to me and going to college as well and being able to do both. First step is to pass a test in order to choose a job. It’s called the ASVAB (The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery). The test is difficult and requires lots of studying and retention of information. The lowest to score is a 21 and that requires to take a program. With this program you get educated on most things of the army so that you hopefully score high in your second try. After that you just wait until you are shipped out to basic training. “All Army Reserve Soldiers must complete 10 weeks of basic Training Combat, the same boot camp attended by full-time Army Soldiers”afterwards you come to the end of this training you then graduate from it and you become a part of something incredible with being in the military. Being in reserves still helps you with college fees but not all. As long as you strive for what you want even if there are obstacles, you just have to push yourself. “Shoot for the stars, even if you miss you’ll land among the stars” by Norman Vincent Peale.
