During your first few weeks of summer vacation visit  Laguna Beach. From Anaheim to Laguna Beach it is about a 45 minute to an hour drive. Besides swimming and shopping Laguna Beach provides an array of trails to bike, hike, run, walk or just to sight see on. If you are art-driven visit the Sawdust Festival begins Friday, June 29 and ends Sunday, September 2. It’s open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. everyday. Students even at a discount on ticket prices when you bring your school ID. Admission for adults (12+) without school ID are $9.

On a day trip to Catalina Island, you can experience no things and there’s tons to explore. It’s an hour long boat ride from either Long Beach or San Pedro to the shore of Catalina. A round trip for adults (ages 12-54) are $73.50 for a roundtrip. Beginning from top to bottom, you can go ziplining, enjoy a spa day or go shopping. At the beach you can kayak around the island, take a submarine down into the depths of the sea, go snorkeling or have a lesson in scuba diving and see the ocean from a whole new perspective.

In San Diego, there are plenty of fun opportunities to go on an adventure with your family. Ways to get there is a drive or a leisurely train ride. Walking through the San Diego Zoo, or visiting the USS Midway Museum, or going on an adventure to the La Jolla Underwater Park.

McKenna Shaw, junior, said, “Balboa Pier, there’s the most to do. There are arcade games and a shopping center.” Balboa Beach has an arrange of shops and store to investigate for an all day shopping trip. If you want to just enjoy the view bicycle rentals are available, or you can just take a relaxing stroll down the pier. Sometimes you may even see seals at the end of the dock. Even enjoy a nice relaxing day at the beach with your friends could be fun if you would rather not spend any money. Just remember to pay for parking!

Last but not least Big Bear, for all those who prefer the woods over the beach. Maybe going shopping a storybook town like The Village or riding a boat out onto Big Bear Lake could be a refreshing way to beat the summer sun and still have a terrific time with loved ones. In town, local restaurants and boutiques litter the streets of Big Bear.

If you are looking for a relaxing spa day or a rigorous hike to go to during your summer these are definitely places to go. Enjoy the summer while it lasts and make some new memories on the adventures you’ll go on.
