Women’s water polo advancing in CIF
In the 2017- 2018 season, women’s varsity water polo got second place in league and were also to advance to CIF.
“I enjoyed the work ethic of my team the most. Everyday my team showed up ready to work and push each other and it showed in games. I could not think of a better team I would rather have spent my final season as an aztec with,” said senior Lauren Westphal about her season.
Karissa Qually and Lexi Raichel are the captains of the water polo team.
“The thing I enjoyed most about my season was being able to be a leader for the younger girls on my team and show them the ropes of the aquatics program,” said Qually.
“The best part about playing water polo at Esperanza is the friendships you acquire throughout the years of playing which makes the tough times a little bit less tough,” said Qually.
