Basketball fans… “this is where the fun begins”

Aaron Valadez, Reporter

The 2022 NBA Playoffs began on April 12 with the play-in tournament. Since then, the 2022 NBA Playoffs have been nothing short of great. With top performances from players such as Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetounkoumpo, and lackluster series from superstars Kevin Durant and James Harden, this postseason has shown fans the dramatic switch into the new generation. Younger players like Jordan Poole (Warriors) and Max Strus (Heat) have also both been fantastic for their respective teams this playoffs. Also notable in these playoffs has been Dallas’ 23 year old superstar Luka Doncic, who was superb in his teams last playoff run. Doncic has averaged a historic 31.5ppg, 10.1rpg, and 6.6asp. Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics have faced arguably the hardest set of teams leading up to the Finals in the Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks, and the Miami Heat. They have defeated all three in good ol’ lockdown defensive fashion. Other notable headlines from this postseason include the dramatic decline, or should I say sad choking efforts of championship favorites, Phoenix Suns and Brooklyn Nets. Both teams were projected to make the finals this year in higher margins above the rest of the playoff teams. However, both fell short, Brooklyn in a first round sweep! With just a few weeks left of the postseason, the Celtics are set to face off against Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors for the 2022 Finals. The Warriors are looking for their 4th title in 8 seasons. On the other hand, the Celtics are looking to reclaim their championship prowess from over a decade ago. If the Celtics do win, it would be superstars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown’s first championship of their careers. If they fall short, Stephen Curry wins another title, and the Warriors are officially back on top of the league. A scary thought for sure. Who do you guys think will take it? I’m gonna stay neutral, but one thing’s for sure, these Finals will be a lockdown, shooting showdown for the ages. Tune in to see who wins exclusively on ABC.
