Pumpkins With a Twist

Humanities Class Redefines the Classic

Kara Fortier, senior, designed a spooky skeleton head inside a rib cage pumpkin.

In Humanities class, Mr. Nordwick teaches his students how to design a non-traditional Jack O’ Lantern as the first step to understanding modern art. The students break down the components of the basic art form and then change a few of these elements to demonstrate a fresh take on a subject. The trick is to walk the line of establishing a new image without losing the association to the original art form.
