Most know about the airline issues that have been rising lately in the news. It all started with one video of passenger, Dr. David Dao, being dragged off of United Airlines flight 3411. Due to being overbooked, United did not have enough seats to sit their standby crew. They later confirmed that they had asked for volunteers, but when no one volunteered they said a computer would choose random people to be removed from the plane.

The computer chose four passengers and all three went without an incident but unfortunately, Dao was the only passenger who did not leave. Dao refused to leave, causing three officers to forcibly removed him from the seat, leaving his glasses askew and blood covering his body.

Oscar Munoz, CEO of United Airplanes commented “I want you to know that we take full responsibility and we will work to make it right…. I promise you we will do better.” Though some were grateful for his apology, others found it insensitive. Since this video went viral on April 9th of 2017, many videos have been swarming the internet

On May 3rd, JetBlue had kicked off Cameron Burke along with his family. Burke and his family were flying to Las Vegas to celebrate his wife’s 40th birthday. To surprise his wife, they had brought along with them a buttercream cake. They initially had approval from one of the flight attendants to have the cake with them but once another flight attendant had walked by, they called authorities and after saying the Burkes had no wrongdoing on their part, they were still forced off the plane.

These have been very unfortunate events that have been happening all around the world and it does not seem like it will be dying down anytime soon.
