Following a decisively poor season for the Aztecs, varsity football player Hayden Winters opens up with his thoughts on the season.

“It was a little rough,” he admitted. “We have a young team, and it’s harder to win with a young team. We kept our heads up.”

The football team finished the season Friday with a record of 1-9. Such a streak has been sustained from last year, most notably seen in the team’s defeat in both this year’s and last year’s famed Yorba Linda games.

Winters has been on the football team for all four years of his high school career and was captain last year.

“We kept our heads up, and that’s important,” Winters said. He remains optimistic for future seasons.
