Love is in the air, and you can smell it. Couples holding hands and walking side by side in the street. Making the day special by dedicating time to a loved one on Valentine’s Day is a great way to celebrate the season of love.

The best way to someone’s heart is through their stomach. Treat your loved one to a date at Flappy Jack’s Pancake House for breakfast in Santiago. They offer pancakes, waffles, oatmeal, coffee, etc. For lunch, Mimi’s Cafe in Yorba Linda provides soups, salads, sandwiches or burgers, The Summit House Restaurant located in Fullerton, offers steak, chicken, seafood and dessert

A romantic location to show someone you care is a beach. Laguna Beach and Dana Point, both being about 40 minutes away, are romantic places to take a moonlit walk. Laguna Beach has cliffs to rest on and watch the sunset. Dana Point also offers dolphin and whale-watching cruises.

Valentine’s Day movies to watch are A Walk to Remember and Leap Year. A Walk to Remember is about the characters Landon Carter (Shane West) and Jamie Sullivan (Mandy Moore), who end up falling in love, when they first meet because Landon is forced to do community service after getting in trouble. Leap Year is the story of Anna (Amy Adams) wishing to follow her lover with intentions to marry him because of a Celtic tradition that allows women to propose on Feb. 29, but ending up elsewhere.

Valentine’s Day is equally a time for both singles and couples to express love. Take time to yourself this Valentine’s Day and take yourself to a restaurant, have a walk on the beach, and end the night with a movie you enjoy. After all, who can love you more than you love you?
