Here is an interview I did with EHS women’s basketball player Charlotte Muller before an upcoming match vs Beckman recently. We talked about many different topics, including how the season has gone, some challenges she and the team have faced, and much more! Here’s what Charlotte had to say…
How has the season gone so far, and what’s been the biggest highlight?
“The seasons going pretty good so far, the biggest highlight is probably our first game of the season, we beat Clairemont in overtime.”
What are some challenges your team has faced, and how have you worked through them?
“Some challenges our team has faced are that we have a younger team, like going into the year, so we have worked through this by just like communicating with our teammates and practicing more!”
What’s one game you’re really looking forward to, and why?
“One game i’m really looking forward to is senior night because I’m a senior so I just think i’ll be like really fun and like, it won’t be like serious and just have fun with my teammates
How do you balance schoolwork with basketball?
“I balance schoolwork with basketball by just making sure I make time after practice to get all my work done.”
What are your expectations going into the game vs Beckman today?
“My expectations are I think it’s going to be a really hard game, I think, we just have to focus on like doing the best that we can do and not the score and not like let anything tear us down or anything.”
What’s your Pregame routine like?
“I usually take a nap before games and i’ll usually have like a Gatorade or something for like energy.”
Best advice you can give to someone looking to play basketball in high school?
“Best advice I can give for someone looking to play basketball in high school is just have fun and like you’ll probably make the team if you tryout, just have fun and don’t worry about it too much.”
As for the game, the Aztecs took the win over Beckman by a score of 65-64 on Wednesday, it was close but they got the job done! A huge thank you to Charlotte Muller for taking the time to chat with us. We greatly appreciate it and best of luck to you and the rest of the team this season! Go Aztecs!!!!
