Esperanza High School has a great softball program that has been very successful over the past years. Looking ahead to the 2026 season, they will face some tough teams. Women’s softball just finished fall ball and had its last fall ball game on December 10th. Fall ball was a great thing to do this year, especially with new freshmen and 3 new transfers. Preseason is starting soon, where the new transfers get to play their last few game before the sit-out period. The first few season games might be a little rough with the transfer not being able to play and already having a starting spot. After the preseason, they finally get to start a roll in on on-season for 2026. Their first season game is a tournament starting February 13th-15th. Esperanza softball is participating in about 3 tournaments this year. Teams they are facing this year are Sonora, Villa Park, Yorba Linda, Troy, Crean Lutheran, La Habra, Sunny Hills, Foothill, and lastly, El Dorado. Softball is going to have a pretty big season this year with a young team and new transfers. The team and staff are both trying to make league champs this year and also hoping to go to CIF. For some league games, they are themed. They have blackout games, green out for Saint Patrick’s Day, and K out for Cancer. Finally, the last game is Senior Night for pitcher Calista, shortstop Tayloran, and Julia, who may be back for the season but tore her ACL. Overall, looking at how fall ball went, Esperanza Softball is doing great right now and hopes for a good competitive season.
