With high school coming to a close, many seniors are setting off on different paths of what to do after high school based on different ideas of what is best for them.

Contrary to the standard college route that many teachers and parents advocate for, Senior, Austin Hibbard said, “My plans are to move out to LA, get an apartment with my homies and then try and become a musician.” As for why he isn’t attending college: “I decided to not go to college because I don’t have the money for it,” said Hibbard.

Other students have opted for the standard college route are opting to attend college. Cal State Fullerton or Santiago Canyon College are very popular choices for seniors at our school.

Senior Michael Leathers said, “My dad was the first one in our family to go to college, and he told me if you wanted to be successful you had to attend college to further your education.” He will be majoring in business entrepreneurship and mechanical engineering.

However, with a simpler motivation, Senior Noah Scruggs said, “I was motivated to attend college by money.” He intends to major in computer science.

Despite the various different paths that seniors are taking, they seem to have a solid idea of what they want to do in their life and how to proceed with that.
