Georgia Pool Commits to Union College

I recently had the opportunity to interview senior athlete Georgia Pool about her sport. I sat down and asked her about her sport and her playing it in college, and here are her answers!

Q: What sport do you play and what school have you committed to?

A: I play volleyball and I have committed to Union College in New York.

Q: How did you get into your sport?

A: When I was 9, my sister went to a try-out but she was really scared to go, so we had to come and give her support. So I was just standing there outside of the doors and one of the guys working there was like, “you should go try out too”, so he just slapped a name tag on me, shoved me out there. They said I was pretty good.

Q: What’s your favorite thing about your sport?

A: I like being on a team with a bunch of people, and most of the time the volleyball girls are nice. I just really like the team aspect of it, having all those people there who care about you .

Q: Do you have a favorite memory associated w/ your sport?

A: I think being there when they won CIF, even though I didn’t play, still being on the bench was just crazy.

Q: How long do you see yourself continuing your sport?

A: I think only just through college. The only reason why I’m really playing in college is so that I had a better chance of getting into the school and that going in I would have a lot of friends there and people that I already know. So after this I just want to focus on my career.
