The Aztlán

Jocelyn Castañeda
“A journalist peculiar function is to read the mind of the country and to give definite and fearless expression to that mind,” M. K. Gandhi. As a sophomore, Jocelyn Castañeda finds herself happiest when she is writing articles. Joining The Aztlán family is something she has been wanting to do since she started journalism at Bernardo Yorba Middle School as the News Editor. She then worked her way up and was able to assume more roles. Jocelyn has an interest in covering subjects such as, news, features and campus. Although she started writing articles in 8th grade, she has been well trained. She has conducted interviews ranging from the co-owner of Porto’s, Betty Porto, to a fellow classmate. Jocelyn is very excited to read the mind of the public and compose articles the public will enjoy.
